COURT ORDERS SPEEDY INVESTIGATION IN THE CASE

Court has ordered prosecution to complete investigations in the matter where Dodovico Mwanje and 20 other accused persons are charged with demolishing St Peters church in Ndeeba.
This follows after court declined to dismiss this case against the accused persons as requested by defense lawyers

Presiding magistrate Prossy Katushabe has over ruled defenses application and ordered prosecution to complete the investigation in this matter.
She also declined to order prosecution to return confiscated telephones of the accused persons.

However, she directed state to make all disclosures to \defense team. The case was adjourned till 13thOctomber 2020, for mention.

Lawyers for the accused persons were unhappy with the ruling.

The 22 suspects who are charged with 4 counts are facing offences of malicious damage, theft, disobeying lawful orders, and conspiracy to commit a felony.
The offences were committed between March and August 10th 2020 around Kampala district when they allegedly demolished St Peters Church of Uganda in Ndeeba- property of Church of Uganda.
