Police has tasked its alert squad to arrest any officer who is negligent on enforcing adherence to SOPs provided by ministry of health.
Police Spokesperson Polly Namaye says Police has it has established that some police personnel have continued to compromise observance of the set SOPs due to selfish reasons thus risking the lives of many Ugandans.
This was at a media briefing held at Uganda Media Center. She said time for inept officers is up.
Meanwhile Police has warned people staying near water sources to be on the lookout as water levels in different lakes continue to rise.
In the same vein, Police has confirmed that about five lives were lost in Lake Bunyonyi mid this week although only two have been recovered so far.
