Nominations for Directly elected Member of Parliament Wakiso district were filled with tensions when aspirants provoked Police on their way to being nominated.
More than 50 candidates are sting for different posts in this locality.

Nominations for directly elected Members of Parliament for Wakiso district started at exactly 8am in the morning at Wakiso district head quarters, with first priority given to women aspirants.
All candidates were compelled to adhere to the new rule of having only seconders entering the nomination room.
The first woman to be nominated at around 9am was the current woman member of Parliament, Wakiso, Rose Mary Sseninde.

The other women nominated on the day included, among others, Naluyima Betty who is standing on the NUP ticket.
The first person to be nominated on the side of men was Honorable Medard Ssegona who has to be in court this Friday. Others nominated included Busiro county aspirant, Kantinti Apolo, Muwadda nkunyingi, and Khalid Ssimbwa, among others.

The other battle in Kira Municipality is between new entrant, Mose Ategeka of NRM and incumbent, Ssemujju Nganda of FDC

Wakiso district, being the second most populated district in Uganda and with majority youths, is expected to have the best political hype before the 2021 elections.
Nominations for elected members of Parliament will be concluded this Friday.
