Tanzania President, John Pombe Magufuli, has been sworn in for a second term which will run from 2021 to 2025.
The swearing-in ceremony, held in Dodoma, was attended by a host of foreign dignitaries who included Uganda’s President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Magufuli has taken the oath of office for a second five-year term amid tight security after the opposition called for a fresh election, the disbandment of the electoral commission and an “endless peaceful demonstration” over the October 28 vote.
