Uganda’s 10,000 meters world record holder Joshua Cheptegei has returned after a successful stay in Europe over the past few weeks.
He was received at Entebbe International airport by a delegation from government and Uganda athletics federation.
After one of his longest stays in Europe, Joshua Cheptegei has returned home.
His latest return is special because of the world record status in the 10,000 meters, a thing that the entire world is taking note of; as he and others promote Uganda.
After his exploits in Valencia for the world record, Cheptegei finished fourth at the world half marathon championship that was won by Jacob Kiplimo.
He was received by a delegation of government, national council of sports and Uganda athletics federation officials.
Cheptegei has returned with two of his teammates, Stephen Kissa and Moses Kibet with the other batch including world half marathon champion Kiplimo expected on Wednesday night.
