Government of Uganda is committed to ensure many Ugandans, especially the Youth, acquire life skills. This was disclosed by the Acting Director, Directorate of Industrial Training in the Ministry of Education and Sports, Patrick Byakatonda, at the ground-breaking ceremony of four vocational training centers in Kyotera district.
Construction of 4 non-formal agricultural based training facilities in the Parishes of Kabuwoko, Ssanje, Bukalasa and Sembabule has started. The initiative is supported by Masaka diocese.
The Acting Director, Directorate of Industrial Training in the Ministry of Education and Sports, Patrick Byakatonda says, government is working hand in hand with churches and other stakeholders to transform the country’s agricultural sector.
Byakatonda emphasised the need to utilize the available vocational skilling opportunities to close employment gaps.
The Rt. Rev. Serverus Jumba of Masaka diocese reiterated the need for more support and guidance to the youth. He also advises them to be responsible, ethical and flexible in whatever they do.
