Candidates who lost in the NRM Primaries including the incumbent Paul Akamba the Member of Parliament Busiki county Namutumba district have refused to concede defeat and have vowed to stand as independents come 2021.
They made the remarks during a press briefing in Namutumba.
speaking to the media at his offices, Paul Akamba refutes the election results attributing his loss to the biasness of the district registrar Bovan Mukisa thus declaring his Opponent Fred Kasisa.
Akamba claims to have got 47,859 votes against his closest rival Fred Kasisa who got 45,988 votes but was shocked when the returning officer declared Kasisa winner without giving the exact figure.
He has vowed to contest for the seat on an independent ticket in the 2021 polls despite the loss.
It should be remembered that Akamba lost a in the NRM primaries in 2016 to Aspasa Mpongo later contested as an independent and won.
The NRM returning officer Bovan Mukisa who refused to comment on camera denied the allegations made against him and the entire election process in Namutumba.
Mukisa attributed his failure to announce the results to each side declaring itself as winners.
