Ministry of Finance and Bank of Uganda to compel commercial banks

A section of Legislators have called upon Ministry of Finance and Bank of Uganda to compel commercial banks to put into action the Presidential directive of temporarily halting loan repayment
The concern comes after commercial banks resorted into confiscating properties of their indebted customers contrary to the Presidential directive.
Following the outbreak of coronavirus Pandemic in March that affected major sectors of the economy many businesses were left in the financial shock.
Members of parliament not only want government to compel commercial banks to temporarily halt loan repayment but also provide stimulus packages to different businesses
