The State Minister for Higher Education Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo has asked for the monitoring and investigation of challenges leading to poor performance in private Primary Teachers’ Colleges.
Muyingo insists on private institutions meeting set education standards lest the quality of primary teachers is compromised.
He was officiating at the release of 2019 results for Grade III Teachers’ Certificate in Primary Education at Office of the Prime Minister in Kampala.

Youthful Zahara Nabyuha being among the 9,493 candidates sat her final examinations from Kibuli Primary Teachers’ College in Kampala.
Whereas the students enrolled reduced from the 2018 sitting, the pass level is recorded to have improved.
The best student was Wamboko George from Nyondo Primary Teachers’ College followed by Okello Felix from Nakaseke PTC.
The results were officially released by State Minister for Higher Education John Chrysostom Muyingo.
He was concerned by the poor performance of the private Primary Teachers Colleges calling for investigations.
The release of the Grade III teachers’ results also saw the inauguration of the task force for Uganda National Institute for Teacher Training.
UNITE, as it is also known, is mandated to harmonize, support and oversee pre-service and in-service teacher training in Uganda.
