Residents of Njagalabwami in Nakaseke district are appealing to district and government to intervene in a planned stone quarrying venture which they say will endanger their lives.
The appeal follows failed attempts by the local leaders, led by the area LC1 chairperson, Sentamu Vincent, to resolve the issue.

Worry has gripped residents of Njagalabwami village in Nakaseke district over an impending stone quarrying exercise by Grand vision investments limited.
During a village meeting, the residents argued that quarrying of stones on the hill will affect their health and also harm them physically.

Though the quarry will solve the unemployment questions, political leadership here would like to get clarity from Grand vision investments limited on how it will execute this exercise.

When contacted for a comment, Grand Vision investment limited official, Andrew Muzoora, declined to comment and referred us to the company head office in Kapeeka.
