The Prime Minister of Busoga kingdom, Dr. Joseph Muvawala, has encouraged NRM supporters in Busoga region and the country at large, to utilize this campaign period by emphasizing togetherness in order to enable the country and the party maintain development strides achieved in the last 35years.
However, Joseph Muvawala also cautions the party members that as the country goes through this election period, they should steer clear of the mushrooming pressure groups that are just aimed at making money, and not soliciting support for the party.
Dr. Muvawala was addressing the NRM Team Thorough YKM 2021 pressure group, led by Eng. Kizza Kamuntu, and NRM supporters from greater Busoga region, at his country home in Budagali Village, Jinja city.
The National Coordinator, NRM Team Thorough YKM 2021, Eng. Kizza Kamuntu, appealed to people in Busoga and the country at large, to support agencies formed by the government to fight the rampant cases of corruption.
Eng. Kamuntu, commended the good working relationship between Busoga Kingdom and the central Government, and promised Government’s commitment to some of the key challenges facing the region, including poor road network, among others.
In a related development, the NRM Team Thorough YKM 2021 also received over 60 former supporters of NUP, FDC and DP who crossed to the NRM. The function to receive this new group was held at Jinja city play ground, and was presided over by Eng. Kamuntu. According to Eng. Kamuntu, over 40,000 former supporters of opposition political parties have crossed to the NRM from various parts of the country ever since they embarked on this campaign at the beginning of this year.
