NURSES’ MASS PROTESTS OVERSHADOW SPAIN’S NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATIONS

Hundreds of nurses descended on Madrid’s iconic Puerta del Sol square on Monday in order to protest what they insist are poor working conditions for nurses during the global COVID-19 pandemic. The protest was organised by Infirmary of Madrid United.
Amid this second wave of infections, nurses say they’re being let down by the regional government through a lack of resources and poor working conditions.
The nurses chose Spain’s national day to make their voices heard with a mass protest in Madrid city center.
