Uganda police Force is set to recruit 50,000 police constables to support the force in the forthcoming general elections.
According to police Publicist, Fred Enanga, the constables will be recruited and operate in their respective districts, with a monthly pay of 375,200/=
As the 2021 general elections get closer, Uganda police is strengthening its capacity to handle electoral uncertainties. Police has created a team of 5000 officers to enhance security during this election period.
In addition, police is to recruit 50,000 special police constables in all districts of Uganda to support police during the election period.
Enanga says the process of recruitment is well budgeted and are to be deployed for three months, with Shs. 375,200 monthly pay.
Uganda police has given all those in possession of military stores this week to voluntarily submit them before vigorous search starts next week.
Meanwhile, last week, police recorded 64 major incidents and 143 suspects were arrested.
Among these cases, 36 are murder-related, 3 rape cases, and 2 cases of aggravated defilement, among others.
On the police response in Mbogo clan affairs in Mugulu, Mityana district, Enanga says organizers failed to comply with Covid-19 control measures of informing security in the area and engaging taskforce of the district.Follow Us on Social Media
