NRM party chairman President Yoweri Museveni has met NRM party leaders and aspirants in Sembabule district to resolve matters following recent political tensions.
The meeting, at Kawanda Secondary School was attended by the top NRM leadership in Ssembabule and all aspiring candidates on NRM ticket.
It follows reports of violence in the Sembabule in the run-up to last week’s party primary elections.
The party’s electoral commission, headed by Dr. Tanga Odoi postponed elections in Mawogola West and Mawogola North.
One of the hotspots, Mawogola North, features Shartsi Musherure Kutesa, daughter to foreign affairs minister Sam Kutesa, and Godfrey Aine Kaguta, Museveni’s younger brother.
Security was deployed around the meeting area

NRM members hope that Museveni’s meeting will quell political tensions in the area.
