Rwampara Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Mr Emmy Kateera Turyabagyenyi who doubles as the deputy RDC Mbarara has warned religious leaders and believers against violating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the fight against coronavirus as churches reopen tomorrow.
After over 6 months under lockdown, President Museveni recently allowed places of worship to reopen but directed that no place of worship should have over 70 people attending one mass (service) at once.
Kateera reechoed that as authorities they are ensuring that all SOPs are duly followed and everyone should wear masks among other preventive measures; reckless religious leaders and believers will be arrested.
Some churches have already released programs indicating how church services will be conducted in shifts starting at 8 am.
Similar caution was sounded to the educational institutions slated to reopen for candidates and finalists on October 15,2020 except international schools and those for people with special needs that have been allowed by the education ministry to fully reopen.
