As construction works of Katosi water reservoir near completion, National Water and Sewerage Corporation is working tooth and nail to ensure replacement of old pipes, as well as testing connectivity.
According to Mahmood Lutaaya, the general manager- Kampala water, recent incidents of water shortages in areas of Ntinda and Naguru are due to the ongoing relocation of pipes.
For the last few days, residents of Ntinda and Naguru have been suffocating due to water scarcity occasioned by the ongoing completion works of the Katosi water project that entails relocation and replacement of old pipes.
National Water and Sewerage Corporation officials have inspected the progress of the relocation and replacement of the pipes, thereby assuring communities of better times ahead.
The construction of the Katosi water project commenced three years ago and is currently about 86 percent complete.
The 156M Euro project is envisaged to boost water supply to the greater Kampala areas, with 160,000 liters of water per day.
