Tanzania is due to hold Presidential and Legislative elections on the 28th of October, 2020.
The Chama Cha Mapinduzi, which is the second longest ruling party in Africa, has dominated the politics of Tanzania since the country’s independence in 1961.
With just over one week to the elections, opposition parties allege that hundreds of their candidates have been unfairly disqualified.
Voters expect rival parties and their candidates to demonstrate political maturity and make realistic promises at the coming election, held once every five years.
The two running Presidential Candidates are the current President, John Pombe Magufuli from the CCM Party, and his opposition, Tundu Lissu from the Party for Democracy and Progress, also known as Chadema.
