Dr. Henry Mwebesa, the Director-General Health Services in the Ministry of Health has announced that the driver of the vehicle, Isaac Mukisa who was employed with Acacia Safaris Limited died on the spot whereas Timothy Trevor Dairo, a temporary monitoring and evaluation officer at the Ministry died later while being evacuated to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital for management and treatment of the injuries he sustained from the accident.
“The third occupant, Ronald Ahumuza survived with a fractured collar bone and is in stable condition at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital. He is currently being evacuated to Mulago National specialized hospital for further management,” said Dr. Mwebesa.
The trio was returning to Kampala from official duty in Bukwo district where they were supporting the distribution of long-lasting insecticide-treated mosquito nets exercise.
Mwebesa said that the Ministry of Health has taken over burial expenses for Timothy Trevor Dairo as per the public service standing orders.
Trevor, 24 will be laid to rest in Gweri sub-county in Soroti district.
